12/13/2021  UPDATE - Help for KY and Surrounding States

Canvas family,
As many of you know, Kentucky and several other states were devastated by tornadoes this weekend. Many people lost their lives, and many others lost everything.
We have someone at Canvas that has offered to rent a U-Haul truck, fill it with items for those in need in Kentucky, and drive it to those in need at the end of this week.
If you would like to donate items, please bring them by the church office Monday-Thursday of this week between the hours of 9am-12pm, or 1-5pm. You can donate purchased items (bottled water, toilet paper, diapers, formula, non-perishable food items, trash bags, paper products, etc) or you can also donate household items that you no longer need or use (furniture, dishes, appliances, etc).
Also, if you would like to help and load the U-Haul, please be at the church at 1:00pm on Friday. It will be loaded and head to Kentucky on Friday afternoon.
Thank you all in advance for your generosity. 🙏

Are you ready to re-commit yourself to our Lord and Savior? If so, check out our Rebuild resources today and commit your Church Family's life to Him!

We will be holding IN PERSON AND ONLINE services every Sunday morning.

12/17/20 UPDATE

This year has been like no other. There have been so many changes and so many different ways of doing things. What we need is stability and that is found in Christ Jesus. Every day may not be a good day, but there is good in every day. This past year brought many struggles, but it also brought many blessings. Amy Arnold has joined us as our full time Children’s Director at Canvas and brings a lot of excitement into our Children’s Ministry. We have had more decisions made for Christ this year than in many years past. We have had up to 1,300 views a week for our worship services online. We have found many different ways of doing ministry because of social distancing and guidelines. We have had to stay separated from each other, but we were never separated from God. We will look back on this year for years to come. It will be the most talked about year for centuries. Let’s remember how God loved us through all of it and how He never left us. We have much planned for 2021 and ministry will not slow down. We will recover, we will move forward, and God will never leave us. Thank you Canvas for being so faithful and loving; you made a big difference.

12/17/20 UPDATE

I’m as excited as ever to continue to serve the Lord through the student and young ministry and with that comes a few exciting changes! The youth will now have their youth services on Wednesday nights from 6-7:30 instead of Sunday nights from 5-6:30! This change came with a lot of thought and prayer and I am confident that God will use it for the betterment of ministry! The young adults will also have a new meeting time and will meet on Monday nights from 6:30-7:30 instead of Sunday nights from 7-8. I truly am anxious to see the Lord work continue through both ministries! - Jalen Gardner, Student and Young Adult Pastor

9/9/20 UPDATE

Canvas Family,

It seems like it has been forever and a day since we were all together as the body of Christ. Since the middle of March, which seems like an eternity, we have created good habits as well as bad habits. I would like for this Sunday, 9/13,  as we move to Step 2, which opens our children's ministry and youth ministry, to be a "Back to Church" Sunday. I would ask all of you, as the body of Christ, to begin coming back and attending in person.

We have been evaluating every statistic that we could get our hands on, including the number trends in our state and county, as well as our school system. We feel very comfortable, with the numbers declining and the schools having great success, to re-open our children, youth, and worship. We will continue to maintain our safety policies and procedures that are currently in place to make it as safe of an environment as possible for you and your family.

What I just shared with you is our part, and now I am asking for you to do your part. First, and this won't surprise you, due to the fact I don't know how to "sugar coat" things- "get back in church!" Second, if you will please wear your mask coming in and going out, and continue to keep social distancing as much as possible. Third, temperatures will be taken in the children's ministry and youth ministry, so please comply with this safety policy.

As we encourage people to return to in person services, you will need to determine on your own based on your health status and age, if it is wise for you to return at this time. I am only asking those without underlying conditions to return in person.

I do want to take the opportunity to thank you very much for being committed with your tithes to the church. It truly is a blessing to all of us as we continue doing ministry throughout these uncertain times. Please remain faithful in your giving, as God commands us to.

The last thing I want to share with you, as we move to Step 2, is that this Sunday we begin our "Unshakeable Hope" series. This would be a great time for you to become a part of a D Group, if you are not already part of one. The majority of our D Groups have continued to meet throughout this pandemic, and were able to grow and participate in ministry. For those who are not involved in a D Group, they are missing these blessings. So, I encourage you to be a part of a group, continue to grow together, and be involved in ministry. It is truly a blessing, especially in these times. If you are not yet in a D Group, you can still purchase an "Unshakeable Hope" study guide on Amazon on your own.

As your Pastor, I am extremely thankful for a church that has stuck together, that has loved together, and that has served together. You really don't know how strong you are until you live in the valley. We have produced much fruit, and ministry has not stopped, and I personally want to thank each and every one of you for making that happen. I love you, and I am proud of you.

I have HOPE, as we start our "Unshakeable Hope" series this Sunday, that I will see YOU at Canvas at 9:30 or 11:00.

7/27/20 UPDATE

Canvas Family,

We want to continue to update you on what our leadership is praying about and deciding to provide a safe environment for all of you to worship throughout this pandemic.

As of now, we are following the Forsyth County School guidelines in policies and procedures. What does that mean?

1- We plan to move to Step 2 of our Back to Church Plan on Sunday, August 16th, which will be the Sunday after the kids return to school.
2- All ministries will be offering face to face as well as virtual options, so you can make the choice that you feel is best for your family.
3- If the schools close for all students and teachers once again, we will evaluate going back to Step 1 or live stream only and will notify all of you.
4- IF we have someone attend Canvas on a Sunday, and they test positive for COVID-19 the week following, people that were exposed will be notified, but will not need to quarantine or self isolate. They will be encouraged to monitor symptoms for 2 weeks, and if any Covid symptoms begin, they are to isolate at that point. This is following the essential business guidelines issued by the school.
5- We will continue to disinfect and clean high touch areas on Sundays with our new cleaning team. Deep cleans will be performed if anyone that was in the building tests positive to ensure everything is disinfected.

As always, we will keep you informed and updated as things evolve and change. If you have any questions, the staff and leadership are here to receive them. Thank you for your love, support, Patience, and understanding!
